The Washington Redskins...sigh...they get my hopes up every off-season, with high profile signings of the top off-season free agents, then the season comes around and..nothing, they're always busts. They've had a laughable history of off seaon signings and lacluster performance. One of my early Redskins memories was them firing the proven Marty Shottenheimer and hiring the Ol' Ball Coach, Steve Spurrier, from the University of Florida. The circus style off-season led to a 6-10 regular season and the franchise cleaning house and starting over with the rebuilding phase.

Soon after Spurrier came and went we decided to sign big name older players who were clearly past their prime. "Neon" Deion Sanders, who was more focused on off field issues. Another bust...

More recently they have laid low and avoided guys with character issues but still love to make the big off-season splash, a la Albert Haynesworth $100 Million contract, the most in NFL history.
